We will be holding two church services during the week of Summer Soul XL, both of which will provide ideal opportunities to invite your friends to church to hear the Gospel! Both are happening on the 11th July, one at 10:30am the other at 5:00pm – please do think and pray about who you could invite to one of these.

As with previous years, we will be running a café in church throughout the week of Summer Soul XL and we are in need of some delicious sweet treats to serve… can you help?

We will be grateful for any cakes or biscuits you are able to make for the café, but if you are need of inspiration, please click on the link to below to download some very easy recipes.

Please bring your cakes, frozen or fresh, to church on Sunday, 4th July. If you have access to a computer, please e-mail Lois Cross on lrcross107@googlemail.com informing her of what you have made in advance of the 4th.

4th-12th July 2010 – Sunday to Sunday

Nearly 200,000 people live in York, and each summer thousands more come to the city as tourists from all over the world. We know God loves every person in this city, and Summer Soul is about demonstrating that love in word and action.

Jonah 4 : 11   ‘Should I not be concerned about that great city?’ (NIV)

Summer Soul in its current form began in 2006 and each year God has grown the mission and its impact. In 2009, the team was made up of over 100 students from churches across York and beyond.  In Summer 2010, we are once again looking forward to partnering with God in bringing a foretaste of his Kingdom to York through loving its people as our Father does.

We know we can do all things through Christ.  Commit this week to God and lives will be changed, including your own.
